Hey Friends, Today, I want to share: 🎥 New on YouTubeI’ve been posting roughly every two weeks on YouTube, and these are the most popular videos: On Danish Habits: On Pensions in Denmark: Aside - I’m (leisurely) looking for a bigger apartment or house, and I’ve been surprised by how “hot” the housing market in Denmark is. It’s not like during COVID, and not like the last months of 2023 … But it’s still hot. In the areas I’m looking (so, close to where I live already 😛) the good properties sell as quickly as ever. And prices are still going up. I thought the market would cool out this year but alas I don’t think that anymore. I think that so long the Danish economy keeps booming (thanks Novo!) this is not going to stop, especially in the sought-after areas. 👾 How to Get LuckyTurning a hard-left, I have always been inspired by Pieter Levels. He's (probably) the most famous indie entrepreneur out there -- an "execution machine". His list of projects over the past years is insane: That's 50+ projects he launched - and some of them huge things like NomadList and RemoteOk. He even wrote a book. (AND - That's up to 2021 and since he launched 10+ new projects, including some wildly successful ones as PhotoAI, InteriorAI and more.) His activity on GitHub is speaks to this: According to him, he's earning $150-200k a month. Bonkers for one guy and his laptop. (He's famous for doing almost everything on his own). I like his example to illustrate that there’s an iceberg of projects and initiatives behind many successes. In Pieter’s own words: overnight success it the biggest myth out there. I'm a long way from Pieter (lol), but as a self-check in also made a list of all my projects: Plus:
Point is: If you want to get lucky try more, build more 🔥. 👉 For which, my new course on "How to Build an Online Business" (aka Second Salary) will be a big help 🎉 I just finished it and launched it this week. It has 80+ lessons, in-depth deep dives and demos and is packed with tactics and strategies. It is selling at a low intro price until August 12th: check it out! 🏝️ Inevitability ThinkingI want to pair Pieter’s approach with a concept I learned from Eben Pagan called “Inevitability Thinking”. Inevitability Thinking is about setting up your life in a way that makes success - as the concept implies - inevitable. Instead of asking, “How can I get lucky?”, you start asking, “How can I make success inevitable?” (TL;DR - It’s about setting up your life in a way that you every day do the actions that drive you to get the results that you want. Habits 😉.) If we want to optimize for “shipping more”, then the way you would use Inevitability Thinking is: 1. Define How Success Looks Like: What does “success” mean to you? Is it a money-making online business? A certain income level? A specific breakthrough? Be clear and specific. 2. Work Backwards: From that end goal, what steps would need to happen to make that outcome inevitable? What type of projects would you need to work on? What skills would you need to develop? 3. Create Systems: Instead of relying on motivation, create systems/habits that make you do the above as automatic as you brush your teeth. This could be a daily writing habit, filming a weekly video, having a monthly product launch schedule, etc. (Pieter got his first wind when he committed to launching 12 startups in 12 months. In my case, I credit all of my successes to just being incredibly consistent). 4. Remove Obstacles: Identify potential roadblocks and proactively remove them. This might mean simplifying your tech stack, batching similar tasks, or learning to launch MVPs faster. Aim for "frictionless" - e.g., I've a crazy desk-studio setup that lets me create content very quickly: 5. Leverage Momentum: As you start getting traction, use that momentum to fuel further progress. Each launch/thing you get done teaches you something new and brings you closer to your “lucky break.” The idea here is that by combining inevitability thinking with a “ship more” mentality, you’re not just hoping to get lucky – you’re creating a system that makes success almost unavoidable. You’re increasing your surface area for luck to strike. 👉 You can apply the same Inevitability Thinking prompts for areas beyond building a business. The same framework will help you in your dating life, career improvement, health and fitness goals, etc. 🧭 Tales from SvalbardIn July I had my most prolific month in a long time - and, overall:
It’s been super hard to find the time but getting there. (It’s been intense at my day job, but fun intense). I've more coming up. Travel-wise, in June I took a cruise with my wife and the kids through the Norwegian coast, up to North Cape and then on to Svalbard and back:
Closer to home, the kids (and me too) enjoyed the Gilleleje labyrinth. It’s new and very well put together. Recommended! Monthly Prompt - I want to make a short guide about Danish summer houses. If you’re an expat and have one, can you share what has been the appeal to you, and any tips? (I never found Danish summer houses interesting, so pitch me!) Thanks for reading - Hope these emails are helpful! Mario |

Hey All, I increasingly see that the connecting thread of everything I’ve been writing and making videos about is financial independence. Today, I want to deep dive on financial independence, and share what financial freedom means to me in practice. BUT First - We’ve reached 10.000 subscribers on YouTube 🎉! It only took… 4 years? 😂...
